Quick Answer

Check Point automatically filters incoming email. High-confidence malicious messages are quarantined and require an NTS-reviewed release request, while lower-risk spam and unsolicited marketing messages are moved to your junk folder for review.

Using Check Point Email Security

What Check Point Email Security Does

Check Point is a cloud-based email security solution that provides advanced filtering to help keep your inbox safe and secure.

The service is managed by NTS, so no preparation or software installation is required from mailbox users. Check Point evaluates incoming messages and either delivers them normally, moves lower-risk spam to junk, or quarantines messages that appear malicious.

Notifications You Will Receive

Check Point provides two types of notifications about filtered email:

•Daily digest: A summary of messages quarantined or moved to your junk folder during the previous 24 hours.
•Immediate notification: An alert sent when a message is quarantined or moved to your junk or spam folder. The notification includes why the message was flagged and the action Check Point took.

You can also review your quarantine at any time by signing in at http://euw2.email-security-portal.checkpoint.com/.

How to Review a Quarantined Message

1.Open your Check Point notification or go to http://euw2.email-security-portal.checkpoint.com/.
2.Review the sender, subject, reason the message was flagged, and the action taken.
3.If you recognize the message and believe it is legitimate, select Request to Release.
4.Wait for NTS to review the message. NTS will release it only when the message is determined to be safe.

Do not request the release of a message solely because it appears urgent or uses a familiar display name. Confirm unexpected invoices, password requests, payment changes, and file-sharing notices with the sender through a known contact method.

How to Access a Shared Mailbox or Distribution Group

2.Enter the email address of the shared mailbox or distribution group whose quarantine you need to review.
3.Check that mailbox or group for an email containing a verification code.
4.Enter the verification code in the Check Point portal to continue.

You must be able to receive messages sent to the shared address. If you cannot retrieve the code, contact your mailbox administrator or NTS for assistance.

What to Do When a Legitimate Email Is Filtered

No email filter is completely free of false positives. A legitimate message may occasionally be identified as spam or quarantined.

For a message in your junk folder, review it carefully and mark it as safe when appropriate. For a higher-risk message in quarantine, submit a request to release it so NTS can manually review the message before delivery.

If you are unsure whether a message is safe, leave it quarantined and contact NTS. Do not open unexpected attachments, follow unfamiliar links, or enter credentials in response to a filtered message.
